3. Safety Tip #3 – Getting into Fights (Part 1)
There are multiple reasons for getting into a battle with another aspiring Pokemon master. You may be fighting over the right to catch a wild Pokemon, or you just don’t like the way he looked at you, maybe the both of you might simply want to test your skills in battle, or perhaps even for that last strawberry ice-cream in the store.
Whatever the reason, here are some basic safety tips and rules so that your Pokemon training experience keeps you out of the hospital (or morgue), and leaves you intact and unharmed after each battle.
1. Keep Pokemon fights as Pokemon fights
Unless in life and death circumstances, you must not involve yourself or the other Pokemon trainer in the battle.
That means that you may neither tell your Pokemon to attack the other trainer, nor attack or help defend against the opponent’s Pokemon with your own body. This also includes starting a fistfight with the other Pokemon trainer.
2. Do not insult or try to steal your opponent’s Pokemon (especially Pikachu)
According to recent statistics, insulting an opponent’s Pokemon or trying to steal an opponent’s Pokemon have been the leading causes of Pokemon trainer injury or death in Celadon City, Saffron City, and Vermilion City in the last decade.
Most notably though, are the large number of incidences involving electrocution, with most of the victims and their Pokemon suffering multiple 3rd degree burns. Some of the culprits are young, aspiring Pokemon trainers who are over-sensitive to comments about Pikachu, but the causes of majority of the cases are still unknown. Authorities suspect something about stealing Pokemon.
